Love - Hate Relationship

I hate my monolids.
No, I do like them at times.
But I want bigger eyes!

I've thought about going for double eye lid surgery but I don't know if I will like the end result. Read alot about it and saw some of the pics. I think they look a tad too fake. The lid is too thick and it's not natural at all. So I decided to give up the whole idea though my mom said she will pay for it cos she thinks I look much better with double lids.

The thing about my lids is..I have monolids but its slightly infolds. So when I apply my eyeliner, it doesn't really shows up. And when I thicken the eyeliner, it makes my eyes look even smaller.

But then again, I think I should be happy with what my parents and god has give me. Thus, to forgo the chance of surgery on my lids (which i think will be very painful as well!).

So on special occasions, with the 'doll-up' mode on, I will use double eye lid stickers to give me the eyes that I want.

Super single lid, naked face. Pls pardon the messy hair, I just got out of bed. =/

And this is with the eyelid stickers, with foundation on.

What do you girls think? Double or Mono? >.<

I think you looks pretty with both! You can be versatile with either mono or double really. Eyelid surgery is abit drastic, perhaps you could try out glue instead of tape? Glue is probably more invisible compared to tape, probably give you a more of a taste of what double eyelids could be.

Your skin looks so nice without makeup! *jealous*

My grandparents got eyelid surgeries because they're so old that their eyelids are starting to droop down over their eyes! LOL! XDD They're so cute.

Hmm, do you just think you should be happy with what your parents gave you OR you are happy with what they gave you? There is a difference there... ^^ I think it's quite okay to not be completely happy with what they gave you... otherwise we all wouldn't be using makeup and shit! ^^

You look beautiful with double lids.

i'll add you to my links too :)

i know what you mean...i have one eye that annoys me a lot. it has a much smaller crease than the other, which makes it look like i have one smaller eye and one larger eye :S It really bugs me because my makeup looks retarded and asymmetrical when it happens.

I guess its a matter of whether you really like 'em or not. Monolids look great and they can wear different types of makeup really well. Don't know if you were ever on Asian Beauty Blog.com, but if you were I'm sure you remember Rolos? She had really awesome looks.

Anyway i guess i'm trying to say that double or mono are beautiful in their own way :) just make sure you research the pros and cons thoroughly :)

Btw I've also heard that if you use glue regularly and have the fold on the same area for a while, the eyelids will start to fold on the same area naturally. You could give that a try too...

Nic nic: Thanks thanks! You flattered me! I think I look sleepy without the stickers though. =/ Ok, I will try the glue soon. Just bought one today!

Fuzkittie: Thanks Thanks! Lol, you know how lighting can hide your flaws! Actually, I have blemishes and lots of blackheads!
Your grandparents are really cute btw. =)

Blu3: Thanks for the suggestions! Any idea how long it will take to train the eyelids? My face is really oily, I wonder if glue will stay on well.

I've never really tried any eye makeup cos of my single/infold lids. Everything seems to look awful on them. Besides, I'm really a noob at that. T.T

Cool blog. If you do decide on getting eyelid surgery - make sure that you request that fat are removed from the lids. It'll give you a more natural appearance and more natural look eyelids - because eyelids are suppose to look thin and not plump. I've been poking my eyes out for years with the tape and glue. I'm going to get my done when I save up enough money.
